Today's residential and commercial solar installations are largely limited to rooftop locations, ground mounted systems or applications where the opaque nature of the modules is not important.

GPEC's SM-OPV™ ClearPower™ technology allows for the formation of virtually transparent solar power generating windows that continue to function as windows while enabling the generation of power. This exciting capability developed by GPEC's university partners is enabled by proprietary nano-thin, and color tunable SM-OPV™ films coupled with multiple transparent electrical contacts. GPEC's SM-OPV™ ClearPower™ films absorb more light per unit of thickness than traditional solar technologies, which allows for ultra-thin, virtually transparent films that retain power production capabilities. Because GPEC's SM-OPV™ materials can create highly tunable and selective absorption characteristics, ClearPower™ enabled commercial glass could have a variety of color tints and aesthetic treatments.
